There probably isn’t a better time to visit Mount Shasta than during the wintertime when everything looks like a wonderland just waiting for you to enjoy. You have so many options in this beautiful area that you will wish winter would last year round. You will see the mountain from over 100 miles away as it stands it full 14,162 feet in the air, just waiting for you to come and play.
Take the downhill skiing time to really get your workout with challenging slopes and beautiful scenery. Maybe you will want to take a day off and go for a dogsled ride into the back country with skilled mushers. You will see the landscape in a totally different view than you have had the opportunity to see before.
Grab your snowshoes and go visit Lassen Volcanic National Park. Here you can cross-country ski or go for a snowshoe walk. In the winter the roads are closed except for a mile up to the visitors center where you can begin your adventure into the fabulous mountains and pathways. This will be a California vacation you will remember for years to come.
